Cornea

OUR APPROACH

The Cornea Clinic at Vision Eye Hospital is equipped with the most advanced technology for the treatment of corneal disorders. The doctors in the department are extremely well versed in the subject and educate the patients about improving their eye health and the reason behind their impairments. The technology used for the procedures is such that it reduces the risk of any damage to the vision. We also have our own special clinic for designing corrective lenses suitable to the patient’s needs. Additionally, we have a separate Dry Eye Clinic dedicated for dealing with the problems of dry eye.

Dry Eye Clinic

With the increasing use of computers and modern lifestyle, dry eyes are becoming very common and are often a source of nuisance to the patient. We have a special clinic that looks after the ocular surface and helps you become more comfortable again.

OUR PROCESS

For Corneal Transplantation the latest techniques like Lamellar Keratoplasty (Deep Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty and Endothelial Keratoplasty) are performed with good quality tissues.A corneal transplant involves replacing a cornea that is cloudy or scarred with a donor cornea to restore vision. In cases when the cornea is not diseased through its whole thickness, only the diseased portion, or layer, is partially dissected away, and a partial thickness donor cornea is placed. This technique has fewer side effects, less risk of rejection and longer graft survival rates.

After the procedure, the surgeon and the counselor continue to meet with the patient for post-operative testing and follow-up care.
